WOW!!! My best mate & I stopped in on our way back home from Sydney & we were not disappointed! We had 2 lovely young ladies take us on our tour of the Sanctuary. They both were very knowledgeable about the Sanctuary, the founders & each individual Dingo. For an extra $5 ($10 normal entry) you could have an encounter with a Dingo! Best experience ever!
We book on their website and for a week everything is fine. Arriving at the gate no one is there to greet us and upon calling a dismissive receptionist says it is "too hot for the dogs", though they had plenty of time to tell us beforehand they were closing up as they could obviously see we had booked and they refuse to let us in to even walk around anyway because conveniently both employees are "feeling unwell" yet still there to work. After mentioning a two hour drive they dismiss us and do not even offer a refund or a rescheduled booking. Upon calling the manager she seems confused and says she'll call their employee to let us in, the same employee who feels ill and refuses to do so. Then only upon speaking of a refund do they accept to do so. And we end up with wasted time, petrol, money and no dingoes at all.
Great experience. Place is a little run down, $10 for adults and $5 for kids. We also had a chance to sit with a dingo and the kids patted one. Speny roughly an hour there and the tour guide was knowledgeable and a lovely woman. Bought some souvenirs too.
Very nice cozy area filled with many friendly dingos. The dingos are so friendly and playful, they followed us around within their area. The volunteered staff are very nice and friendly as well! The dingos all look happy and healthy which is great! However, it would just be more experiential if more than 1 dingos were let out for the guests to have encounters with. Or have a separate area which allows the guests to enter with a few dingos.
We had a wonderful time here learning about dingos. The volunteers are very caring and you can tell theyre passionate about these animals. I truly recommend coming to visit them.
